1. Chile, Misterio packaging, 2012.

Sharon also deciphered and sent us the Misterio chips, which she says are of a spicy cool ranch variety. That sounds pretty outstanding to us, Sharon. Carry on.

  2. Chile, Sabor Ketchup packaging, 2012

Super fan Sharon sent us this recent discovery of heart-shaped ketchup-flavored goodness from Chile. Why hearts? Why not, I say. Interestingly, while being ketchup, the chips themselves don’t looks all reddened from flavor dust like you might think. At least from the packaging that is.

  3. South Korea, Extreme BBQ packaging, 2012

Another find courtesy of Rip City to Seoul.

  4. South Korea, Nacho Cheese packaging, 2012

According to Rip City to Seoul, these don’t quite taste like Nacho, but more like the Black Pepper Jack in the USA. I wonder why the flavor tweak?

  5. USA, Dinamita Chile Limon packaging, 2012. From the Liebold Archives.

These not to much. Firstly, the wholly unnatural coloring (surface-of-the-sun red) is a off putting. Secondly, from what I can tell, this is the same flavor profile as Flamas, so why not just call them Dinamita Flamas? If the favor is subtly different, I can’t tell you. It’s just too damned hot for me to eat enough to gauge. So these, not so much a repeat eater.

  6. USA, Dinamita Nacho Picoso packaging, 2012. From the Liebold Archives.

Holy molé, what have we here?! Doritos USA takes a cue from Doritos Japan and offers not only a new flavor, but a new chip shape for this new flavor. These little rolled up Doritos (round tortillas rolled into dynamite shapes) are pretty tasty. The rolled-upped-ness provides more crunch, and these aren’t too hot to enjoy in large doses. Kudos, I didn’t think I’d take to the rolls shape, but it’s quite good.

  7. USA, Salsa Rio Throwback packaging, 2012. From the Liebold Archives.

These are fantastic, a good low key salsa chip without the throat burning sensation. Great revival Doritos! Get em while you can, these are only around for a limited time.

  8. Brazil, Doritos Verão Barbecue packaging, 2011.

  9. Brazil, Doritos Verão Green Pepper packaging, 2011.

Summer? Disco ball? Brazil? Doritos? Absolutely!

  10. Japan, Pepper Bacon packaging, 2011

Again with the weird shapes, and again with the awesome flavors. Well played Nippon, well played.

  11. Japan, Doritos Gourmet Clam Chowder packaging, 2011. From the Liebold Archives.

Well, you know you either have a loving family or your interests are becoming a little obsessive when you get Doritos for Christmas. My sister-in-law gave these to me this year, and yes, they taste very much like clam chowder. The seafood-based Doritos aren’t my favorite, not because I don’t like seafood, they’re just weird is all.

  12. Japan, Doritos Gourmet Grilled Squid and Kikkoman Soy Sauce packaging, 2011. From the Nerdy Show Archives.

Ho boy. The gents from the The Nerdy Show podcast sent these over to me, and I cannot help but a little jealous. Look at this! I think the green swash on the front says “100% AWESOME” but my Japanese reading skills are worse than nonexistent. Kudos gents for scoring such an exotic sounding flavor. Ok my dear readers, help a fan out and get in touch about sending me flavors like this if you can!

  13. USA, Sour Cream & Onion vintage packaging, 2012

An update on the Doritos Twitter account today hinted at these lovely triangle shaped pieces of heaven coming to the USA this up coming January. Don’t let us down Doritos. Santa is watching.

UPDATE: Just had these, holy moly. DELICIOUS. As another sampler in the room stated, these definitely give Cool Ranch a run for their money. Consume immediately and often.

  14. USA, Battle Black Pepper Jack packaging, 2011. From the Liebold Archives.

These delicious bits of snackable warfare are only available at Wal-Marts. So if you can stand the aroma, get in there and grab them while you can. They’re only available for a limited time as a tie in with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

These are great. It’s rare nowadays for me to be able to inhale a whole bag in one sitting, but these guys didn’t stand a chance. My Snack XP went up exponentially.

  15. Australia, Hot Mexican Salsa packaging, 2011
